Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga Massage is a traditional healing therapy that dates back over 2500 years.  It works on the theory that there are many channels running through the body that carry our vital energy.  The aim of the massage is to restore balance in the body by releasing any blockages in these channels.

The Massage
A Thai Yoga Massage is full body massage that you receive through your clothes whilst lying down on a comfortable futon mat.  I use my palms and thumbs work along the channels and include a number of acupressure points designed to release tension in the body.  I may also incorporate some gentle yoga stretches to further increase mobility and aid relaxation.  Particular attention is given to releasing tension in the legs, back and shoulders.  The massage feels very rhythmical and the rocking motion of the treatment is deeply relaxing.

Who can benefit from Thai Yoga Massage?
Everyone!  I tailor the massage so that it suits you and your body. You do not have to be flexible to receive a Thai Yoga Massage as I only choose stretches that will work for you.  I think it is especially beneficial to people who experience pain due to postural problems but it can also help with headaches, joint pain, knee pain and back ache as well as helping to relive stress and lower blood pressure.  To find out more about why I think this traditional massage is the perfect treatment for modern times read my blog post here.

Sessions can be either 1.5 hours or 2 hours long.
